Oggi mi allontanerò un po' dallo stile shabby, vi parlerò di tutt'altro.
Ho deciso di portarvi in giro per le isole di Venezia. Questo, dunque, è il primo appuntamento con i luoghi in cui vivo, coi paesaggi che vedo da sempre e che non finiscono mai di stupirmi.
Sono stata a MURANO.
L'occasione è nata dall'esigenza di un "business tour".
Volevo regalare ai miei ospiti un'esperienza UNICA.
ma partiamo dall'inizio...

Today I won't talk about shabby decor, I'll be telling a completely differnt story.
I'll take you on a tour of the Venetian Islands. This is therefore, the first of a series of appointments with the places I live in, with the landscapes I'm used to, but which always give me such great emotions.
I've been to MURANO.
It was a "business tour" and I wanted my guests to live a unique EXPERIENCE.
but let's start from the beginning...

Nel 1291 la Repubblica Serenissima decise di trasferire a Murano la produzione del vetro; ufficialmente per ragioni di sicurezza, per evitare il rischio d'incendi, probabilmente però, anche per proteggere i segreti di quest'antica arte. Da allora la produzione del vetro avviene solo a Murano ed è rimasta pressochè inalterata nel procedimento e nell'uso degli strumenti di allora.
Ho deciso di portare i miei ospiti a visitare una delle più antiche fornaci al mondo:
La fornace SEGUSO
aperta in questi giorni al pubblico in occasione della Biennale di architettura per un' ESPERIENZA indimenticabile e davvero affascinante.
In 1291 "The Most Serene" Republic of Venice decided to transfer its glass production to the island of Murano. Officially it was for safety reasons, to avoid the risk of fires, but most probably to better preserve the secrets of this ancient art. Since then the production of glass is made on the island and it's still carried out with the same tools and procedures of the past centuries.
I have decided to take my guests on tour to one of the most ancient furnaces of the world:
the SEGUSO furnace
which is opens in these days on the occasion of the Biennale di Architettura, for an unforgettable and really fascinating EXPERIENCE.
La famiglia SEGUSO, lavora il vetro a Murano da 22 generazioni, dal 1397.
The SEGUSO family has been making glass in Murano for 22 generations, since 1397.

La fornace è un luogo d'eccezione e di magia, dove sabbia e fuoco segnano l'inizio di un percorso che trasforma la materia incandescente in oggetti preziosi.
The furnace is a very special place, it's a magical place, where sand and fire mark the beginning of a path, where incandescent material turns into precious art objects.
Nessuno può immaginare
quanta precisione e dedizione richieda un'arte del genere.
Gesti che si ripetono uguali da secoli, tramandati di generazione in generazione.

E' tantissimo che non vado a Murano, forse da quando ero piccola. Ci andiamo insieme? E' un'isola da riscoprire in un'età adulta...con occhi davvero completamenti diversi...
